Writing a blog can sometimes get tedious. We have all been there. It doesn't matter how much your blog is loved and what topics you choose, sometimes you just get writer's block. You can't create a meaningful post.
This list will www.bioem2017.org help you avoid making a mistake that could alienate your readers. This list was created as a guide and is always on my desk for reference.
Here's a list of post types currently found on my desktop.
Personalized posts.
Talk about something from your personal life. This type of post allows your readers to empathize and feel like they are part of you. It's not a good idea to overdo it. People can become bored of hearing about your turtle every week.
Discuss what you think about a product.
Always fun to do. A post like this can even lead to a quick buck if you include affiliate links.
Talk about something or someone you don't like.
Nothing better to start a heated discussion then by expressing your honest opinion on a subject. However, be careful not to get sued for libel.
Love
Collect a series of links and talk about them once per week.
Video Posts.
Create a video about a topic that is useful.
Discuss current events.
Write about a current news story. You can get traffic almost instantly by using long tail keywords, which are people searching for the topic in the moment you're writing. Google Trends is a good example of how you can find tips on the most recent issues that you could discuss. (e.g. On the eve of the American Idol final I made a post discussing the winner that got some 1000 uniques within a day, and continued to get steady traffic for another few weeks).
Break the news about something.
It is important to be the first or one of the first to break a news story as people then link to you in their reference to the news item.
Review blogging.
Review other blogs, stating your honest opinion about them. Your review may be appreciated by the owners of the blogs you have reviewed and they might link back to it.
Take a survey of your readers.
Ask them questions. Engage your readers. Blogs are a great writing medium.
Event blogging.
Sharing thoughts and impressions from a conference, event or seminar. Bloggers who attend events and write about them are a great thing. Take pictures and notes, discuss it all on your blog after you get back.
Live blogging.
Blog at a fast pace about an event happening in real time. Blog about live events, such as auctions, matches, and other live events, if you are able to take your laptop along.
Repost blogging.
Quality blog posts should be rewritten.
Guest posting.
Encourage other bloggers from your niche to guest post on your blog. It is mutually beneficial as you get fresh content for your blog and the guest posters get traffic to their blog. It helps you build lasting working relationships with fellow bloggers.
List blogging.
People love lists. You can make lists of items in your niche such as "Top 10 Best Goals", "Top 10 Hottest Actresses", "Top 10 Easter Recipes", etc. List posts often become very popular on social bookmarking sites too - more on that later in this text.
Time period overview blogging.
Do a weekly / monthly recap of what you posted about on your blog. These posts keep your blog's traffic steady and help you avoid burying posts in archives.
